SMALL WHITE Pieris rapae
A very successful and adaptable species, with a distribution throughout most of the area. It favours drier habitats than the next species, P. napi, though there is some overlap; also it tends to favour suburban and even agricultural biotopes, perhaps more than semi-natural ones. It is mobile and frequently seen well away from any apparent hostplant-habitat, sometimes even flying over high moorland.
